Yes 10 more days until the official landing of the iPhone 3GS by True Move.
I have never been a fan of True. I’ve had this AIS number since I was 12 years old, not only that it’s a set of pretty digits, AIS also doesn’t constantly spam me with promotional SMS. Like my other True SIM card for work. I get 10 SMS a day asking me to download ringtones and get my fortune checked. The only good thing about that SIM is its 29 baht a day wifi access.
People call me stupid for not getting the True iPhone deal. It looks appetizing; phone, SMS and wifi all included in one nice little 2-year contract. But that’s the very same reason people got duped into with the iPhone 3G hype just few months ago.
And now what do they have? A last year phone with months still being paid off. And with the wonderful and famous customer service by True, they’re not allowed to trade in for the new one either.
I am quite happy with my Hong Kong goods on AIS with monthly EDGE data plan. From what I’ve heard, AIS’s 2G connection sometimes is faster than True Wifi signals scattered about town.
One sad thing about being on AIS though, I will never get to use 3G on my iPhone. Like, ever, thanks to it’s snobbish frequency that takes every other phone but the iPhone.
